Grateful is defined as feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful.
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am always looking for quotes that express my thoughts and I believe this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson sums it up. I am extremely grateful, thankful and humbled to be your 2017-2018 SMPS Wisconsin President. I am especially grateful to you, our current and prospective members, for taking the time to involve yourselves in SMPS Wisconsin.
As I thought about the upcoming year, I sought to build upon all that has been done over the past years to create lasting connections with our members, our firms, our industry and our community. Personally, I intend to focus my efforts on creating meaningful programs that serve our members’ needs, connecting members and future members with opportunities to learn and meet others in our industry, and celebrating the successes of all those involved in SMPS Wisconsin. As a chapter, we want to create programs that will engage members and increase the value that SMPS Wisconsin brings to all involved.
The SMPS Wisconsin Board has crafted a calendar year filled with programs aimed at connecting and educating our members, prospective members and those new to the A/E/C industry and celebrating SMPS as the most trusted resource for building business and achieving success. We are kicking off the season in both Milwaukee and Madison with Growth Hacking A/E/C, presented by Tim Asimos, Vice President and Director of Digital Innovation at circle S studio. He will be sharing ways to strengthen our marketing programs with proactive, client-focused initiatives that can be tracked, measured, and tied back to our firm’s strategic objectives and bottom line. We are also really excited for our Bucks Arena building tour and happy hour in October.
Our holiday party planning has begun and each event is going to be a blast! We will be putting on our chef hats in Milwaukee for an evening of cooking at Braise and Madison’s party will task attendees with trying to figure out “whodunit” with a murder mystery themed event. These parties will definitely be something you won’t want to miss!
Finally, I am utterly grateful for the members of the 2017-2018 SMPS Wisconsin Board of Directors. They are all talented and committed professionals who are continuing the momentum of making SMPS Wisconsin so successful. Please feel welcome to contact any member of the Board to share your thoughts and ideas or to volunteer on a committee. As always, we have some pretty big goals outlined for ourselves but we intend to keep taking SMPS Wisconsin to even greater places, allowing us to continue to grow, and we cannot achieve this without the help of you!
I look forward to a year of creating great opportunities, connecting with you at one of our programs and celebrating all that SMPS Wisconsin has to offer!
